I forget who it was who said the tragedy of science was the slaying of a beautiful hypothesis by an ugly fact, but it certainly applies right now. I like the quote from the NASA scientist:
If both Mars and Earth are experiencing global warming, then perhaps there is a larger phenomenon going on in the Solar System that is causing their global climates to change.Well, quite. In so far as the central doctrine of the global warming cult is that an angry Gaia is striking back at us for defiling her Earthy goodness, finding warming on a whole ‘nother globe whence never a 4x4 did drive would kind of sink the whole thing. Well, either that or the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy is vaster than even I anticipated.
