Markers of No Appearance

This is bizarre!

Burglars leaving marks for each other? Who knew Lefty and Fingers had such a trade union spirit? It's not like there's a whole community of felons travelling round the country, is there?

Hasn't this 'markings for burglars' been proved to be something of an urban myth? And yet, the police seem to be taking it seriously...

Sure it wasn't the Guardian calling it a moral panic, Julia? Now where did I put that piece of chalk, and which was the one for "nothing worth pinching"?

I wonder if they have a symbol that means "Owner has a gun?"
Only asking...

The Pikeys have beeb doing this for years and when stopped and questioned by Police have claimed they were simply carrying out ritual, traditional, family markings. It was strange that many of them were in residential areas or around War Memorials with brass plaques but no junior ranked Police officer was allowed to question this on the grounds of "community spirit".
